Steps On problem solving
STEP 1
Define the problem
When we are talking about defining the problem is to differentiate fact from opinions as well as specify underline causes. Consult each faction involved for information and state the problem specifically. Identify what standard or expectations is violated but also find a way to determine in each process the problem lies. And most importantly is to avoid trying to solve the problem without data.
STEP 2
Generate alternative solutions
It is very much significant to include or involve individuals in the generating of alternatives in much more better to specify alternatives consistent with organisational goals. Introduce or pay attention to short and long term alternatives and seek alternatives that may solve the problem.
STEP 3
Evaluate and select an alternative
It is very important to evaluate alternatives relative to a targets standard and evaluate all alternatives without bias. Do evaluation on the alternatives relative to established goals as well as evaluating both proven and possible outcomes.
STEP 4
Implement and follow up on the solution
Plan and implement a pilot test of the chosen alternatives and gather feedback from all affected individuals. Again seek acceptance and consensus by all those affected and established ongoing measures and monitoring as well as evaluating long term results final solutions.
